MLS Cup champion must play on grass, not artificial turf

That sucks. But it happens. Turf suck. But it happens. It's logistical.

Atlanta United will have to play on turf. Not ideal but at least there's a stadium for the new MLS team.

We looked at turf in MLS a while back. While we aren't completely against it it is interesting to look at home fields of every MLS Cup Champion.

D.C. United, Chicago Fire, Kansas City Wizards, San Jose Earthquakes, Los Angeles Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, Columbus Crew, Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City all play (played) home games on natural grass.

Basically if you want to win MLS Cup you have to play over 50 percent of matches on the real stuff.
