Josef Martinez was voted MLS Player of the Month for March 2017 by members of the media.
Apparently, Martinez is the first player to win the award as part of an expansion team since 2012. Basically no one on Orlando City SC or New York City FC won during those teams' first seasons in 2014.
Even more amazing, Martinez didn't even need to suit up for Atlanta United on March 31 to win the award. A hat trick didn't hurt his candidacy.
